I have tried it during Firefox 3 Download Day, 17th June 2008, right after I downloaded its installer in the UTAR's PC LAB(Damn slow u know -.-)...

1st impression:
Ei? It looks almost the same.. With just a little bit of changes in the interface -.- And then,
Wow!!! It loads a webpage with a satisfying speed in the PC LAB!!!
It loads search results of google images not 1 by 1 but a WHOLE SCREEN in less then 3 seconds which is VERY RARE in our lab... COOOL~

Drawbacks:
Some addons cannot be used in the newer version. (The only drawbacks for me currently)
My favourite Mouse Gestures addon T_T - Now being replaced by a compatible and similar Fire Gesture.

Some news for Mozilla Firefox fans:
The Mozilla Project has smashed its target of five million Firefox 3 downloads in 24 hours, acheiving a final tally of 8,290,545 downloads of the new browser, and reaching a market share that peaked at over six percent. (Taken from http://news.zdnet.co.uk/software/0,1000000121,39436587,00.htm)

8 mil downloads!! Man I as a fan of Mozilla is very proud of this figure ^^ However, the certification process for Guinness World Record will take approximately a week. Well, I'm sure that it will break the World Record anyway.

You might have missed Firefox Download Day, you can still download Firefox 3 here.
